OUR HISTORY

We began trading in Istanbul, Turkey in 2001 and the company's continued growth reflects our team's ability to successfully harness the key values which drive our business forward. Through the acquisition of portfolios and teams of people the group has grown considerably and now has approximately 75 staff worldwide.

As a wholly-independant brokers , Martin&Martin has also followed a strategy in 2005 enabling it to broaden its international presence, and currently has offices in Kiev, Almaty, Baku and soon to be in Moscow.

We have grown rapidly, achieving in excess of 30% growth per annum over the last 6 years. with your continued support and being still very ambitious -we will continue to grow because  our clients prefer it that way and so do we.

Can Ates - Chairman Can Ates has started his business life founding Polo Sigorta in 1986 which is serving over 2.500 domestic and international clients during more than 20 years and succeded to have the TSE-EN-ISO 9002 Quality Certificate. He is presently the chairman of the Martin & Martin Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Co.Inc., and a member of TABA ( Turkish American Business Council) , GYIAD (Young Managers and Businessman Association) and EBA(European Business Association)Ukraine since 1992. He gratuated from Marmara University,Faculty of Economics and attended many cources and seminars abroad for insurance and risk management.He has played 125 times for A Turkish National Water Polo Team and speaks English.   Alper Ziyal - Vice chairman After his studies at the Eastern Mediterranean University Department of Management, he graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Tourism. In 1994, he joined the family insurance business, SANSET SİGORTA insurance agency which was established in 1987. SANSET SİGORTA is providing a full service to its clients all of whom are very reputable companies including multinationals. The portfolio is mainly consisted of property business. He has been continuing his activities in the market as a co-founding partner of Martin & Martin Insurance Brokers since the year 2000. He is a member of the (GYIAD) Young Managers and Businessman Association. Fluent in English.   Meltem Yigit - Managing Director After the BA degree of International Relations at the Boğaziçi University, she received Master of Art degrees in the field of Economy from the same university and another Master of Art degree in the field of insurance at the Banking and Insurance Institute of Marmara University. Starting her career at Emek Sigorta in 1988, Yiğit worked as the Head Fire Department of Emek Sigorta, Property and Reinsurance Manager of Ege Sigorta,Technical Manager of AGF Garanti Sigorta, Deputy General Manager in charge of Technical Department including claims dept. of Magdeburger Insurance Company during under the management of Allianz. Finally she has been the General Manager of Bayındır Sigorta between 1998 and 2002 before she joined Martin and Martin. She has attended many courses and seminars both in Turkey and abroad about property and liability insurances and reinsurance. She is the co-founding member of the Young Insurers Association (GESİD). Fluent in English   Ali Tapsin - Director Ali began his Insurance career in 1992 with Emek Sigorta as a Management trainee. Afterwards , He worked for Ege Sigorta and Merkez Sigorta before moving to Riceman Insurance Investments PLC ,London. Afterwards he has been associated with international brokerage houses worked on different levels in different countries.Riceman Insurance investments PLC ,London;Azerbaijan ,Kazakhstan,Georgia,Kyrgstan; Lambert Fenchurch london, Heath Lambert Group ,London; , T.I Miller London; Willis ,NY; Friedlander Group, NY. He joined Martin & Martin in 2004. Holds NY State broking license on Property & Casualty. Studied Financial Management of Risk at The College of Insurance, St. Johns University ,NY.
